The Mudhouse Marayoor - Boutique experiential stay near Munnar

The Mudhouse was in a beautiful location surrounded by nature, mountains, birds, flowers. It was such a beautiful experience. The stay, the Mudhouse and the Tree House was an absolute gem, and the food was amazing. Especially Lunch!! The staff were super kind and attentive. It’s a little far from the city (Kochi) but it’s so so worth it. I had one of the best experiences of my life here. Thank you. I will definitely be back!

A hidden gem in the valley of Munnar. Every detail is thought through. The food is incredible, and most importantly the staff became like family. It was very hard to leave this place. A true sanctuary of peace. Do check the sunrise hike, the river walk, and make sure you book the treehouse. The outdoor shower and chill area were our favourites. Candlelit dinner and campfire are great extras too.

I recently had the opportunity to stay in this boutique property which, unfortunately, left much to be desired in terms of service. From the moment of our arrival, it was clear that the hotel was lacking in hospitality and attention to detail. The first impression upon arrival was underwhelming. We were greeted with no welcome drinks, and to our surprise, the host didn't even offer to assist us with our luggage. Instead, they just stood idly by, seemingly disinterested in providing any form of assistance. Only at the end one of them picked a box. This lack of a warm welcome set the tone for our stay and left us feeling unimportant and neglected. On a more positive note, I must acknowledge that the hotel boasts a beautiful property. The cottage room we stayed in was excellent and lived up to our expectations. The tree house accommodation is good but not for all! The washroom is separate and not attached. Might be a little inconvenient to climb up and down during night. Regrettably, the overall experience did not justify the premium price we paid for our stay. The service provided was lackluster, and we expected much more from a hotel with such potential. The sluggishness of the food service was a particularly frustrating aspect of our stay. From the time it took for our meals to be cooked to the delay in being served, we encountered countless instances of slow service. On our first day, we were even served cold food, requiring us to request that the gravy be heated. Although the taste of the food was commendable, the exorbitant prices did not justify the disappointing service. It became apparent that the hotel staff lacked proper training in all aspects of hotel management. From welcoming guests to ensuring timely service and maintaining attention to detail, there was a noticeable lack of professionalism. It is clear that improvement is needed in this area in order to meet the expectations of guests and provide a truly exceptional experience. It is my hope that the management takes this feedback constructively and invests in proper staff training to ensure a more satisfying experience for future guests.

Hi, Our stay (yoga retreat)at mud house Marayoor was one of the best experiences. From the time we checked in to our check out , everything was very well taken care of. The natural scenic beauty is worth experiencing. The mud house is an amazing experience which brings us closer to nature and is an amazing break from busy city life. The host warmly welcomed us with his team and accompanied and guided us at all the places we explored around. We experienced one of the best hospitality where everyone made us feel at home. Ambily, akka , the chef and all the people were so warm and loving. We relished the yummy food they served and had best time with all. Would definitely love to visit again.
